The Inventables X-Carve doesn’t come with this feature nor can you buy an add on to make this happen, so I dove deep into the forums and found out how people were doing it. I’ve been using this set up for 2+ years now without any issues. All you have to do is buy a relay, do some wiring and hook it all up! This whole thing will cost you around $30 and 5-10 minutes of your time!
Find the home for your relay
Now that you found a spot for your relay that your spindle plug will reach, remove the little clip on the side and insert your red and black wires. I went with red for positive and black for negative. Relay link: https://amzn.to/3a8MR02
Plug your red/black wires into the x controller
Insert the red wire into the SPINDLE (0-10V) and your black wire into the GRD. Click here for wire link: https://amzn.to/3afrjPv
Plug in Spindle and relay
Plug the spindle into the NORMALLY OFF slot and the power cable into the back of the relay and plug that into power. Also, turn the power ON on your relay.
Set up your X carve
Work your way through the machine set up process until you get to the spindle set up and that’s it! Your spindle will turn on with a click of a button and turn off when your carve is finished. I leave the spindle power switch on at all times and the relay does the rest!
